I can’t believe it’s been a whole year exactly since we visited the quaint town of Cullinan! We have a public holiday here  in SA today and I’ve really been feeling just the slightest tinge of cabin fever lately, restless….. Richard suggested we should go on a short day trip to Cullinan, I wasn’t too keen, you know how it goes, there’s always so much to do around the house that you think to yourself, ‘surely I should be staying home finishing off all the things that need to be done??’ Well we did go and once we were on the road, oh my goodness, it felt GOOD!

We had a wonderful day, went for lunch and popped in to all the antique shops to have a browse and ended up buying an old firegrate for our fireplace. We’ve been looking for a good solid one for ages…

I’m back home feeling refreshed and ready to tackle a new week. I have plans for our home, I want to paint the kitchen and give our lounge a makeover but for now, tea and a spot of knitting sounds good to me.

Happy Monday!

Autumn is definitely here, it feels a little like winter in the early mornings though. There’s a sea of leaves on our lawn, I can see them floating gently down to the ground from my kitchen window, I love this time of year…  Richard got up early and did a 5 hour mountain bike ride today, he’s training hard for Sani to Sea next month. I made a Sunday roast and worked on a few of my patterns and custom orders. We’re having a relaxing Sunday afternoon. There are 2 public holidays this week, all the schools have closed, so we’ve decided to follow suit and take the week off too.

My test knit is underway for Marin, if you’d like to follow along, you can read all the progress on my Ravelry group here.

Have a lovely Sunday friends.

PS I’m having a special on my Cat Knitting Pattern today on my Craftsy shop, $2.50 instead of $5.00!

It’s a Cat’s Life

Charlie1

Just thought I pop this ‘photie’ onto the blog to brighten up your day. When all of us are rushing around doing daily chores and school, Charlie’s relaxing on the kitchen couch just doing what cats do…

Hope your day is a good one.

Our Week

Guinea Fowl Photo

It has been a week of illness here, both the girls have had flu and Erin also had a tummy bug. The weather has changed almost overnight from summer to winter and we already have our fires going. I need to bring all the warm knitted socks and hats out from storage and also start knitting a few more.

My Guinea fowls are finally finished and will be on their way to their new home soon. We are back into the busy business of homeschooling, extra murals and lessons. So many assignments are due in May and the exam series starts again in June, our new teacher has started and she is wonderful!

Oh yes, I just had to run and fetch my camera when I walked into our school this morning and discovered our very large Charlie had wedged himself, quite comfortably into this tiny shoebox. He is incredibly happy and snug and hardly even noticed me right in front of him taking pics. Too cute!

Hope your week has been lovely so far!
