Today I joined Richard on one of his mountain bike rides out in the country. Now you must understand, I have ridden plenty of times on the road but never off road. This was a whole new experience and I was a little daunted this morning and almost didn’t go with. I did, however and it was great, when I say great, I mean I am thrilled that I was able to set off on this journey and return back to our car without having to stop too many times.  A few times, I really didn’t think I would make it, especially when I was riding up this long hill, full of tiny rocks which seemed to go on forever… I am determined to get fit, I feel so good already (really tired, but good)!  I had a wonderful time riding with Richard, I managed to cross a few narrow bridges without stopping and even rode straight through a couple of streams. There was one bridge that I decided to walk over because when I looked at the water flowing under it, it looked just a tad toxic and I really didn’t want to land in that, so off I got and walked. I was really exhausted afterwards but I would do it again tomorrow, I loved being out in the open, surrounded by nature and spending time with my love.

After we returned home, I cast on another cowl, this is going to be a gift for a very special friend. Her favourite colour is purple and she enjoys wearing scarves and cowls. I don’t think, well I hope she won’t look here and see it, I have until Wednesday to finish but it’s almost done. It’s just a single cowl, an easy little pattern that I will share as soon as I am finished:)
