Weekending

We have been having a wonderful weekend. Sandy has settled in well and LOVES water as you can see. She runs in the sprinklers and becomes totally drenched.
And then when she is finished playing, she passes out and has a nap…
We are enjoying all the varied bird life in the garden at the moment.

Asparagus for dinner? Yip from our very own garden:) I love that we can just go outside the kitchen door and pick our food:) Makes me happy…

We divided and replanted all of our Irises, (about 500 + plants) two years ago and this year they are giving us a beautiful show… It is almost time to divide again.

Our Oak tree is green!
The Wisteria is magnificent down the side wall of our home…

My Aestlight Shawl is almost finished, I am just busy with the lacy edge.

I can’t wait to knit another shawl:) Any suggestions?
Happy Sunday
xo
Linda

They’re so funny when they go after the sprinklers, aren’t they? Until they actually begin to Eat the sprinklers, which ours have from time to time. We used to play with our last two beloved dogs – making arches of bright water out of the hose as they leapt to snatch a bite of the brightness, passing through the arch in a shower of sparkles.

Your yard is, as always, lovely. And the iris breathtaking. I will be putting up photos of quite the opposite season next week = stunning shots of the mountains, now in full flame.

oh so much beauty. Love the purple wysteria and the colours in that shawl are just perfect representaion of it too! The life of a dog hey, its hard yakka really. I think if there is such a thing I would like to come back as a nice family dog.

Your spring pictures are almost bittersweet for me, here in Northeast Ohio. We are seeing the end of summer and, while the colors of the fall leaves are lovely, they are no competition in my mind for your iris and wisteria. It will be many months before we will see spring again, and winters here are so very — well — character-building!!

Is asparagus easy to grow??? We love it but it is so expensive!

Love the photos of Sandy and the water and that one of her asleep makes you just want to pick her up and cuddle her. MY SIL got a little Cavalier King Charles puppy this week and he is adorable too….aren’t puppies the best!

This lady has just finished a mystery KAL shawl that is beautiful, check it out http://tillytatas.blogspot.com/2010/09/mystery-shawl-knit-long-kal-finished.html

    Dear Shannon,
I steam the asparagus and just add some rock salt and fresh lemon juice, truly divine:)

    Dear Baa-Me Kniits,
Last year, a nursery was selling asparagus plants, I was so excited, I bought 4 and once planted, they started growing straight away! They grow so fast too. It is very expensive to buy asparagus from the grocery store, so we are thrilled to have our own. This year, I bought 5 more plants, they were only $ 4.00 each and give us such wonderful produce:)
    Have a great day,
    Linda

It is so amazing that you are stepping into spring as I am stepping into fall. We sleep while you awaken. The wisteria and the shawl go so well together…its almost as if you took the color of the wisteria and put it in your shawl.

You are a very busy mommie.. I love your shawl. Your puppy is just too adorable. This evening Sasha made a wish, then told me that he wished for his puppy little LULU that he misses so much. Our family is not complete without children and dogs! Sorry to hear about your little chicken, I get so attached to all our animals to. Your garden looks amazing! I must find this amazing salad recipe I used to make when I lived in Miami. I have an asparagus plant in Dominican Republic but it’s never given me asparagus,, and it’s been there 4 years now. I think it’s too hot.I would love some of those pretty irises in our garden, my mom used to have so many of them in SA. xxx
