Flowering Aloes were dotted all along the roadside as we travelled.
Swimming in the ocean on cloudy day.
The walkway at Southbroom beach.
Richard and Kye were building a sand castle fort.
There was a sand artist on Port Edward beach and he sculptured the most amazing creatures…
Oh YAY! We discovered the most divine river, hidden away in the Drakensburg. We all played there for hours, it was amazing fun:)
This is me walking up the river to the children.
It was truly beautiful…
A photo of the South African veld (bush, grasslands) with a lonely thorn tree in the middle on a hazy day. We noticed there had been plenty of veld fires down south where we travelled and the green shoots of grass were starting to peek through.
Richard and the boys, so sweet….
These are the last of our postcards from our road trip, such happy memories:)
Happy Monday,
xo

i have never seen aloe like that!! wow. i love your new header. 🙂
Hi Linda,
I love your new header. It’s gorgeous. What a great vacation you had. South Africa is such a beautiful country. I learn so much about all of the plant and wildlife by reading your blog. It’s so exciting to learn about new places. Glad you are back and had a wonderful time.
Here is my stupid comment: how do you know there are no crocodiles (alligators?) in a river like that? If you were in Florida, you’d already be eaten up. We went to Disney World in Florida, and there was an alligator in one of the rides! The aloe – beautiful. We don’t get color like that in our portion of the planet. Unless we dye something for it. What a lovely trip. Wonderful, wonderful.
What beautiful photos! It looks like you had a wonderful vacation.
The rivers look like so much fun! I think they are what I miss the most in the winter months!
Spectacular beyond words, from any perspective I’m sure, but definitely to a Canadian’s eyes! Funny thing, before I started blogging, I had no idea that aloe plants could bloom. Many thanks for sharing 🙂
wow, what an amazing place! Such great memories and those sandcastles are fantastic.
they’re great images second hand, i’m sure they were breathtaking first!
I thought you were going to say you made those sand sculptures as they came right after the boys sand castles LOL 🙂
Linda,
Wonderful to have you back. You all look like you are having a great time. Your header photo is gorgeous.
what awesome pictures!
Your vacation looks wonderful, Linda! It must have been fun playing at the river. The photo of the veld with the tree is gorgeous!
All looks so lovely and blissful Linda!! We were supposed to be going camping in the Berg this month, but now I am not sure because of Ray’s foot! Hope you are having a good week. x
What gorgeous photos! I just found your blog via Rhythm of the Home, and I’m so glad. I can’t wait to spend some more time here. I’m especially looking forward to your weaving tutorials and posts!
