Clearing Out and Painting

Lavender

Do you ever feel that there’s too much unnecessary ‘stuff’ in your house? Piles of this ‘stuff’ everywhere that you really don’t need?? I feel this way and must do something about it now. I have started with the boys room…

Boys Bedroom

This is Caiden and Kye’s bedroom, the reason it looks so horrendously untidy is because the girls are painting their bedroom today and everything has been put into the boys room. Besides all the extra things that will be gone by tonight, there are so many other items that I am going to go through and either give away or throw out. I will have to be ruthless and this is difficult for me. I always think that we will be able to use an item at another time and then refuse to let it go, which doesn’t help when you are trying to make your house devoid of clutter. So, I have started with the boys room, I’m going through the cupboards and then the bookshelf and by tonight, hopefully, this space will be a lot neater and tidier to look at.

Girls Bedroom

It’s Erin’s 14th birthday on Monday and she wanted to re-do her bedroom. This morning we went and bought paint and brushes etc… and new bedding and cushions.

Painting

They are busy painting at the moment while I’m typing this, they have grown up so fast and have taken on the responsibility of painting their own room, Cady is helping too and so far it looks beautiful. I will keep you updated on the clearing out process and the painting progress.

Well after frogging this cowl almost twice, I am very happy with how it turned out. The circumference is perfect and I am so glad I didn’t leave it after the first attempt or I would have never been happy with it. I have decided to call it Autumn Sky because the colourway reminds me of our autumn skies at sunset, here at the moment. I love this Manos yarn and the colourway is JUST amazing!!! The teal blue emerging and spreading through the burnt orange and various browns is gorgeous.

This cowl has been knitted in Manos del Uruguay Ethnosphere Maxima yarn, a worsted yarn. I used 1 skein of the Manos yarn and 6mm circular needles.

Now that I have finished knitting it, I would really love to have it test knitted, I have 10 spaces available for test knitters. If you would like to test knit the Autumn Sky cowl pattern, just let me know by sending me an email, lindadawkins@mweb.co.za

Our girls are away for a Scout Kontiki weekend, I think there are over 500 scouts attending, they are building rafts and will stay on the rafts overnight. Jen and Erin are part of a large safety crew that will be on duty ensuring that all the scouts on the rafts stay on board and don’t end up in the water during the night.  It’s been rainy and cold here, so I hope tonight is a little warmer for them. They have been been looking forward to this weekend for months!

Have a wonderful weekend, off to spend some time with my love, it’s our anniversary today.

PS I’m so happy you like the photo linky for Creative Friday in the previous post, I thought I would try it instead of just the links and it seems to have worked well:)
