Cosmos Flowers

Rain

Richard

Richard and I went for a quick 28km ride this morning, it felt so good to be out there in the open. We’ve had weeks of rain though, so a few of the areas we rode through were completely waterlogged. The Cosmos flowers are in full bloom everywhere you look, they always flower close to Easter time.

The girls have finished their first week of school tests, they still have two weeks to go. This afternoon they caught the Gautrain through to Sandton Square with their friends and went to see Matthew Mole release his album called The Home We Built, he has a magical voice. They’re back now and we’re off to have a braai with our good friends tonight.

Life is wonderful!

I’m almost finished my Spring horse, I was thinking of calling her Marin? How does that sound to you?

Happy weekend 🙂

Family Open Water Swim

Dawkins Family

This morning after hockey practice, we drove to the dam to support everyone taking part in an open water swim. The purpose of the swim was to raise money for the Rovers to travel overseas and take part in the Canoe Polo world championships. Richard swam with our older children, Kye and I waited for them on the side of the dam. I think I’ll give it a try next year, it looked like such fun! It’s still raining here after about 2 weeks, which means, I’ll be knitting more I guess…. That’s just fine with me!

Happy day to you!

Creative Friday

Creative Friday Text

Happy Friday! Sorry Creative Friday is a little late today, it’s Kye’s 8th birthday tomorrow and the girls and I have been finishing off his birthday shopping. We will be spending the day with family tomorrow, so I’ve been preparing for that too. He is so excited for his big day and so am I!! He’s been counting down the days on his birthday calendar, tonight I’ll read the special birthday poem to him right before bedtime and tomorrow we’ll all give him 8 kisses each when he wakes. The Waldorf Birthday Book is such a lovely resource and many of the birthday rituals have become treasured traditions in our home.

Have a lovely weekend ♥
