I love spending time in our garden, just sitting on the grass and looking at my surroundings. There are so many colours and textures everywhere and I often find I am too  busy to take the time to really look and see the miracle and perfection of nature. Today, after travelling out and about all over the place, taking the kids to scouts, buying chicken food, fetching a new school desk for Caiden to work on etc… I needed some time to just stop and be… so I retreated to the garden barefoot with camera in hand to capture some beauty. I find, when I connect with nature in this way, I always feel refreshed and full again, ready to continue with my day.

Have a lovely weekend…

In these late days of Canadian winter, when we’ve been looking at white fields and bare, black trees for months, these greens are so soothing to the eyes (as pretty as winter is, we get a bit tired of it by mid-February)…thank you!

Those are wonderful pictures. There is so much beauty and order in nature if we just look. It is also very calming. Have a good day!

How lovely to see the plants that I have to buy in a nursery and keep indoors in the northeast U.S. growing willy nilly in your yard! So beautiful!

You are a true artist with the camera! You take the kind of pictures I take…..the shapes, textures, colors that make our world – you are always my “Ahhhh” moment of the day!

Now what color is that – that vibrant, fragrant color with the pinch of joy in it? Oh yes – GREEN!! Behind again, and running as fast as my little legs will carry me. We are still gray.

    much love

Just beautiful! You’ve captured the feeling perfectly. I look out my windows this morning to a white winter wonderland (in the desert southwest US, where it never snows), and am amazed at the beauty of the world.

I know exactly what you mean, I trot myself out to the garden whenever in need of some therapy. I don’t know how people live without gardens!

Interesting – the British refer to the land behind the house, lawn and all, as a garden. We yanks call that “the back yard” and reserve “garden” for areas deliberately planted in flowers and/or veg. My yard has almost absolutely nothing deliberate about it, and thus, cannot be called (in the US) a garden of any kind. But still, the wild trees – oh, and the lawn – which doesn’t count as deliberately planted, though it is – I love. I love my yard. In summer, it is not much fun because of mosquitoes – they hide under the trees during the day and hunt you down. IN that way, and in no other, winter is better.
