This is my second Shalom Cardigan, I am so excited there are a few of us that will be knitting this project together:) I am knitting this one in a soft natural, undyed, hand spun Merino wool. I just love the softness and cannot wait to wear this cardigan… This time around I have read up on a few of the modifications that people have used when knitting the Shalom. So far, my modifications are casting on an extra 8 stitches and incorporating them into the front garter stitches of the pattern. I am also knitting on size 5 mm circular needles and I will be adding 3 button holes. Sue pointed out a beautiful Shalom which had cable on the front, too beautiful, I think I might just be tempted to try that.
I love the yoke around the neck, Erin made me this lovely stitch counter, which I find invaluable as I tend to often forget which row I am knitting…
A close up…
