We are experiencing a heat wave here at the moment, it’s almost 30 degrees C inside our home, it’s hot! This morning began with early swimming, the pool was so warm and Kye spent his time outside running between the trampoline and the pool.
I am almost over all the damage and destruction from the freak hail storm, our plants have started to recover and the poor little raspberries and loganberries have given us a small show of fruit. Our pumpkin seedlings went into the ground right before the storm but survived and because they grew so well on the veg garden roof last year, this year we have placed them in small, deep beds next to our flatlet in the garden. The flatlet has a flat roof and we are going to let them sprawl all over up there. I think they will do well. Our potatoes are almost ready to be dug up and I will keep you updated about the ones we grew in pots.
Charlie, Erin’s cat, the ginger giant in the above photos, loves water, he will lie down in shallow puddles, so, naturally when the lawn sprinklers were switched off this morning, he rushed over to walk and play in the water…
We are back into the full swing of making veggie and fruit juices, Kye LOVES helping me with this activity and enjoys drinking the juice, he is a very picky eater, so I am incredibly grateful he will drink this juice.

We are enjoying the color of fall leaves in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. We have a 30+ year old Japanese maple in our front yard. We look forward to the beautiful red autumn leaves every year.

Fall is my favourite season, your Japanese Maple must be wonderful!
Oh my, that is hot! It is 30 below here (though not in the house, thankfully!) One thing I love about your blog is how your experience is so very different from mine. Thanks for sharing!
You are very welcome Tara:)
Oh, my heart skipped when I saw your gorgeous ginger beastie. He is soo so like the one we just lost and miss dreadfully still.
We also miss the heat! so, if you have too much, please send some to the uk 🙂
xx
Sending some heat over now;)
We have been taking cars through roadworthy and waiting in the traffic department this morning, all went quickly and well but today is boiling. I am so glad to be home and finish off the final changes for the Warthog pattern.
I am so sad for you that your ginger cat is gone, it’s very hard to move on from that, you and your family are in my thoughts!

It seems the north of the country are really starting to see summer. It just does not want to come to the east coast. We have had a few days here and there but overall its been overcast and rainy for basically 2 months now. Can’t wait to start enjoying the pool and the outdoors.
Oh dear Crystal, 2 months of rain must be quite hectic. I think we’ll be going down to the South coast in Feb next year.
Hope it warms up soon there:)
Its so hot here too, can’t get anything done without getting all hot and bothered. The pool in town is our saviour at the moment 🙂
