Today is a very special day here in South Africa! It is the start of the South African World Cup! We are so excited and cannot wait for the first game to begin here in South Africa today at 4pm! It is so festive at the moment, everyone has flags flying on the roof of their cars while they drive around and many have flags on the front walls of their homes of the countries that they will be supporting:) There are Vuvuzelas being blown all over the country making an amazing noise! You can see the beautiful soccer stadiums that have been built here, they really are amazing! Tonight our home team Bafana Bafana (South Africa) will be playing against Mexico, let the games begin!

Happy Creative Friday and Fiber Arts Friday!
Your little bluebird has inspired me and I am going to attempt my first knitted animal. Thanks for inspiring.
Today’s contribution is a couple of recipes! You’re encouraging me to find more time for crafting and to post more tutorials!
Yay world cup! We lived in Germany during the last one & the vibes were totally amazing. I say that although I’m not all that much into soccer.

P.S. My link is the creation from camp last year. I hope that’s okay. Maybe the fish theme will be a helpful inspiration for some to do some felting now that school is out in most parts of the U.S. for summer!
Happy Friday, Linda! I can see that I’m already set for my weekend’s e-wandering through creativity 🙂
We’re excited here in Canada too for the World Cup!!! I think many people in the world can feel what a thrill it is for South Africa!!!
I just posted an easy peasy craft that any one of pretty much any age can do…a good rainy day craft!! Enchanted plant pokes!

I love seeing all the wonderful and inspiring tutorials shared on these Fridays. Ours this week is a simple play dough. The children love it and I have to admit there is something relaxing about squishing play dough. Joy in simplicity I guess.
The world cup festivities sound fun! Hope you are enjoying your weekend, Linda.
I actually managed to type up summer camp felting adventures today, right after it was all done. I have thus added a second link. I hope that’s okay.
Hi Linda! I’m linking to a fairy doll tutorial I made last year. maybe it’ll inspire others to make dolls from their photographs?!
hugs,
Missy
THanks, Linda, for linking up to the treasury about the most beautiful game in the world (in my humble opinion 🙂 It must be such an exciting time in South Africa. That’s so neat that you can hear the boom of the excitement and all those voices in the streets. I remember being in Italy in 1998 – when the team lost…. the silence was deafening. I wish I had been there last World Cup when they won.
I love your Creative Friday tutorial links!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Jen
just wanted to come by and say happy world cup! dad is a soccer fanatic…he has played since he was 5 and still does every sunday. he is over the top thrilled that it is world cup time again and we don’t expect to see much of him for a while. 😉 no tv here so he’ll have to be elsewhere getting his fix! hope you all enjoy some festive fun.
I thought about you on opening day for the World Cup, Linda!! We are a devoted crew of football girls here(REAL football, not American football!). Ironically, the daddy of this household couldn’t care less about it and scratches his head as he watches us yell/jump/wear facepaint/etc. It is so cool that you are experiencing this international coming together right in your own community.
Thanks for another fab Creative Friday, by the way…you are my HERO when it comes to using blogland as a way to share and bring people together.
