How to make a Sun Tea

We are in our last week of our first Botany block this week and we decided to make a sun tea to enjoy…
We collected some Mint leaves and added them to a glass jar of water. The glass jar is then placed in direct sunlight for the majority of the day and the hot sun brews your lovely mint leaves into a wonderful mint tea.
After the tea had finished brewing, we poured some into tea cups and stirred with honey spoons to sweeten, it actually also tastes quite good without being sweetened. You can also just add a little honey.

Kye enjoying his mint tea, ( I think he is rather enjoying his honey spoon instead 🙂

What you need:

Large glass jar with a lid
Handful of mint leaves
Honey
Water
Sun

Enjoy! Happy Monday everyone:)

Sun? What’s that? Oh yea bright shiny thing in the sky that makes everything happy- haven’t seen it in ages. But seriously, sun tea sounds lovely.

You are such a great mama. Oh you make me miss summer. I grew up drinking sun baked iced tea. My favorite summer dinner is a sun baked tomato sauce, using fresh ingredients from your garden, bake in the sun all day and put on pasta with a little parmesan, soooooo good.

Your sun tea looks and sounds delicious. I’m not a big tea drinker, but I do like mint, green, and chamomile. I’ve never seen a honey spoon– what a great idea.
