Banana Flap Jacks

Banana Flap Jacks from Against All Grain

The rain finally arrived! It’s been raining since Saturday afternoon, non-stop until mid-day today. It has been glorious!! Our garden looks lush and green, it was just in time as well, all our veggie and flower seeds have started to grow, now they are off to a wonderful start.

I sewed up the little sheep family at hockey practice on Saturday, it’s amazing how much you can get done, while sitting at hockey practice…

Our wheat free journey has been an interesting one so far, after reading Wheat Belly, we have almost completely eradicated wheat from our diet. It’s in almost everything, I just wish more people could read that book and  realise just how toxic wheat is. Since I’ve stopped eating wheat, I’ve lost 10 kg and my skin is so soft and clear, I’m just thrilled! Anyway, I have been downloading some lovely cooking books off of Amazon, the one above, Against All Grain has beautiful recipes and so does, Everyday Paleo. These are my go to books right now. I made banana flap jacks today for snack using some almond and coconut flour, they were delicious!

I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Homeward Bound and Reading Wheat Belly

Wheat Belly

I know I’ve been posting SO many sea photos but I just had to post these too. This was the beautiful sunrise that greeted us at 6 am this morning before we left on our journey homeward. Seven and a half hours later, we are safely home again. I can’t believe how quickly our holiday passed! It just flew by but how wonderful it was. We have made some lovely memories to treasure for the rest of our lives and happy experiences are more important to me than any material possession.

I actually captured a photo of a whale’s tail! I waited for the right moment for days and missed each time and then, yesterday, I got it! Such a special moment indeed.

I have also been completely and utterly taken with this book Wheat Belly, oh my goodness, I am totally shocked at how disastrous wheat is for our health, I can’t put this book down, I literally carry it everywhere with me, just in case there are a few spare moments to open it and learn more…! This book has so much mind-blowing information, I think it’s one of the most important books I have ever read!
