I have finished knitting The Sunny Days Shawlette, what an enjoyable pattern! I loved knitting this shawl but when I reached the contrasting colour, that’s when the real fun began, it was very exciting! (Yes, I am a knitting geek, contrasting yarn colours within a project make me happy!) I used yak for the contrast and I think it worked well. I will be gifting this shawl to my niece soon, I started knitting it for her past birthday. I’m without knitting at the moment, it doesn’t feel right to just sit and have nothing to keep my hands busy, I think I need a new project, yes… definitely!
I had both cats following me around today while I was taking shawl photos, they were chasing one another around the garden and we managed to get a few shots of them, Erin took the photos of Charlie, the marmalade boy. Delilah is eight months old now, full of mischief and seriously knows what she wants, she’s the long-haired tortoiseshell.
Jen has one more exam tomorrow and then she’s finished for this term, when I compare how stressed we were for the March exams to how smooth it feels now, I can see that this year of work is getting easier, she is settling into her studies and we have found the most wonderful physics tutor just up the road form where we live, she has helped Jenna so much. Khan Academy is also a tremendous help and of course Master Maths is just amazing. I feel so much gratitude and I really do believe that when you need help and ask questions, the answers do eventually come…
Happy Yarn Along, joining with Ginny today:)

We use Khan Academy with my Elf, too. It’s been a life saver since I have zero patience when it comes to him and math. (:
Speaking of cats, though. This morning when B went to the car to drive to work, he found kittens cuddling on the engine (under the hood). Oy. Mama cat was just sitting there, unconcerned. B had to rattle things around to get them out. What a way to wake up, right?
Hi Melissa:)
Khan is wonderful!! Jen had to learn how to balance equations and he explains it so well, she got it right away!
Oh my goodness, little kittens on the engine, what a surprise indeed! 🙂
xo
I love that shawl! Great colours. It will serve you well in the coming cool months.
Good luck to your daughter for her last exam.
I haven’t been around the yarn along lately. All these projects are so beautiful and filling up my queue again! Thanks, Linda
This turned out beautifully!!!
Thanks my friend! xoxo
Beautiful shawl! Love the kitty pics! I’ve been taking many kitty pics lately, as we have two extra this summer, while my son is in Europe. They can’t go outside tho – too dangerous here. 🙁
Thanks Sara! How sweet to have kitty house guests:)
Just love the shawl!
Thanks Wanda:)
Such beautiful knitting Linda. I do understand about having a project to keep your hands busy, it’s a must around here.
Goodness that shawl is pretty. Definitely the contrast is striking. So glad to hear that you found the right schooling ‘fit’. There is just so much out there… a blessing and a curse. 🙂
Blessings, Debbie

What a beautiful shawl, and I love the contrast.
lovely shawl!
All beautiful.
The shawl is just beautiful – especially the colours – but I have to say your cats overshadow the shawl! They are just the most adorable cats!
Love the blue! Its so pretty!
So pretty! AND your kitties are so sweet! 🙂

The shawls remind me of manta rays, those quiet sea creatures who move so smoothly and peacefully through a world so unlike ours. And the cats – I could just feel that tongue on my fingers. What a blessing the net is in Home Schooling now. There is no excuse for anyone to remain un educated, ignorant of maths and histories and so many things – it’s all there for us to find. Exciting times. Frightening, too – but still – the harvest is there for the taking.
Your shawl is beautiful Linda and the contrast colour works perfectly!! Love your kitties, too. 🙂
(I hear you on being a knitting geek…watching colour changes on the needles makes my pulse quicken and breathing shallow!)
Hi! Your Sunny Days Shawlette turned out stunning. Beautiful colorway and contrast. Am also enjoying your ongoingly beautiful photography.
The shawl is gorgeous! The color is amazing and so are the cats! ?
Thanks so much Mary!
