Mozarella Cheese

I was looking at various blogs today and I came across:
http://www.littlehomebiglove.blogspot.com/
please visit their site for the recipe for their Mozarella Cheese. They have this lovely Mozarella cheese recipe that is so quick and easy to make and since Erin is in grade 3, I thought it would be a good opportunity to make more cheese. It is hardening in the fridge now, but I thought I would blog the photos of our experience.
The milk has boiled, the vinegar has been added and it is starting to curdle.

After 15 minutes the milk is completely curdled.

Draining the cheese. Don’t forget to add salt.

We tied the cheesecloth onto a spoon over a bowl to drain and harden a little.

Here we have taken the Mozarella out of the cheesecloth . Thank you Littlehomebiglove for sharing this process with us, we really had a wonderful time making it and we can’t wait to taste it tomorrow.

Today is my Birthday!

Yip today is my birthday, but the reason for this post is not to advertise that fact, but rather to express how deeply blessed I am as a Waldorf homeschooling mother. Birthdays are very special in our family, each child has a beautiful table arranged with their presents, flowers, gemstones and a candle and a crown that I have hand sewn. It is a very special time indeed!

When I awoke this morning, I was astonished to see, that I too had been given a special birthday table by my children, with orchids in a vase, cards that they had made themselves and gift bags, with lovely gifts from all of them! Erin even spent the whole of yesterday afternoon sewing me my very own birthday crown! I had no idea! I will always cherish this great surprise that I received this morning, that was completely the childrens’ idea with absolutely no help. I feel very blessed indeed! Thank you my little angels!

Vegetable Garden Gate

We were walking through our garden yesterday and I thought I would share these photos with you, the first is the entrance to one of our vegetable gardens, the Banksia Roses are in full bloom for Spring and look so effective above our little wooden gate. Our cauliflower is ready to be harvested and so are our beetroots, our lettuce is almost ready and our onions. It is such a satisfying feeling to just go outside and pick our own veggies for dinner and know that they are organic and pesticide free!

This second photo is of our telephone pole, the Wisteria has simply taken over, isn’t it divine?
