Right Now…

**Thanks to everyone who sent well wishes and remedy suggestions for Erin’s flu, Caiden came down with the flu yesterday and was flat most of the day. Today they are both looking much better, the colour has returned to their cheeks, this tired mama is happy:)**
Right now…. we are enjoying our southern hemisphere winter crafts, we have been making lemon pomanders, they are so easy to make, all you need are some cloves, a toothpick to make the holes, lemons and some pretty string to hang them up if you wish.

Make holes with the toothpick and push in the cloves, you can make such lovely patterns…

I love how our dogs play so sweetly together, I can’t believe Sandy is almost 1 year old…

What is it about boys and digging huge holes in the sand? Kye came and asked if he could dig a big hole, like the ones we dig for our fruit trees… so off dad went, found some spades and the three of them dug a large hole… Kye was thrilled. He always finds stones and pieces of ‘treasure’, this makes him happy:)

I know… I take far too many photos of these feathered girls of ours, but have you ever watched chickens sand bathing? It is truly amazing and very entertaining. The way they fluff up the sand, dig and contort their  bodies just to find the perfect sunny, comfy position…
They make little concave bunkers all over the garden, too sweet…

The girls are so excited, their seeds arrived from the poppy competition that they won and they have such great plans for them. It makes me happy that they are excited about seeds:)

Love to all xo

I wish I were a feathered girl. Well. maybe I don’t. I’d be worried about the mink and weasels and raccoons and hawks and eagles around here. Not to mention the puppies. But maybe a human could make a concave bunker of sand and go lie in it on a nice afternoon? Seed are such a treasure. Amazing, that one tiny fleck of genetic material can morph itself into a talk stalk with a bunch of broccoli at the end. And digging? I remember trying to dig a hole to China once. I was about four years old at the time, but I was serious. Being female, I grew out of that –
