I’ve been working on a new pattern called Everett the Elephant.

Meet Everett the Elephant! A wonderful companion for anyone!
He’s quite tall reaching 9.5 inches in height and 15.5 inches at its widest point, wonderful to hold and carry around.
He’s knitted in worsted yarn with 4.5mm circular needles.

Materials:
4.5mm / US6 circular knitting needles
20 grams of Double Knitting yarn for the tusks
4mm circular needles for knitting the tusks
Sewing up needle
Merino fleece for stuffing
2 Black buttons, fleece or embroidery thread for the eyes,
Felting needle for the eyes (if using fleece)
Two stitch markers
Pins

This is an easy pattern, knitted in the round with circular needles,
Kfb to increase
Knit 2 together to decrease

Halloween Ghost Knitting Pattern

Hello,

I have a new pattern to share with you today for a Halloween Ghost:) He’s a really fast knit, I’ve knitted him in the round with the Magic Loop technique and I used double knitting wool with size 4mm circular needles.

You could also add a loop to the top of his head so that he can hang from something or make a mobile.

Here’s the pattern:

Materials:

A few grams of double knitting wool

4mm circular needles

Black fleece for eyes and mouth

Felting needle

Sewing needle

Small amount of stuffing

Stitches:

Kfb: knit into the front and back of a stitch to increase.

Pattern:

Cast on 5 stitches and join for knitting in the round

Round 1: Knit

Round 2: Kfb into each stitch, (10 stitches)

Round 3: Knit

Round 4: Kfb into each stitch, (20 stitches)

Rounds 5-14: Knit

Round 15: (Knit1, kfb) repeat the brackets across the round, (30 stitches)

Rounds 16-20: Knit

Cast off loosely.

Finishing:

Sew in all ends

Push a small amount of stuffing into the top of your ghost to give the head some shape.

Needle felt the eyes and mouth on with a felting needle.

Yarn Along

Bougenvillia

Hello friends,

We began school again this week and Jen begins grade 12 finals next Thursday! I still can’t believe she’s matriculating this year!! Richard is off riding Berg & Bush and loving it. I’ve been busy with my Henrietta Hedgehog test knit and knitting. I also watched the most informative video regarding cancer here, today, it’s long but so important and very interesting. If you have a chance, try to watch some of it.

Our weather has been incredibly hot and dry recently, it seems to agree with this Bougainvillea though, it has never flowered like this in all the years we’ve had it!

Spinach

I’ve decided to plant quite a few veggies in the window box right outside our kitchen, whenever I plant spinach in the veggie patch at the bottom of the garden, the Hadedas’ strip it bare. Just look how well this has grown in my new veggie spot! Yay! There’s nothing like popping out the door and picking supper 🙂

Spike Miriam

This is the first completed test knit project for the new Henrietta Hedgehog pattern over on my Ravelry group. Thanks so much Miriam! Miriam named her project Spike! Love him!

Bath Mat

I’m busy knitting a cotton bath mat. I have plenty of bulky cotton and thought it would knit up into an exceptionally soft mat.
