Today I am ready to start sewing the Recovery Blanket together. My father passed away at the end of August, it was such a tragic loss…. We began a wonderful project a few weeks earlier, a healing project, where we decided to knit a blanket. This blanket was originally started for my dad as a comfort to him on his road to recovery after a stroke. Sadly, he is no longer here with us and it has left a huge vacuum in our lives. This project was continued for my dear mom, it will be hers to wrap herself in a warm hug and remember all the wonderful years she shared with my father.
Today, I took out all these beautiful rectangles that have been knitted by my family and so many wonderful and caring people from all over the world. Some of these people, I have never even met before, they saw the pattern on Ravelry, read the notes and wanted to send a rectangle to show their love and support. I am so grateful to all of you. As I sew this special treasure, I am humbled that so many sent in these beautiful pieces of knitting and felting. Thank you.
I have also been working on patterns for the animals for my Christmas Nativity Set. I have added the changes for yarns and needles sizes so that the animals will be the same scale as the Holy Family, you can see more about this here on my Ravelry group. I wrote new patterns for the sheep and goat so that they will be to scale as well. Their patterns are on Ravelry and are called Nativity Sheep and Nativity Goat Patterns.
I am off to prepare for our St Nicholas celebrations tomorrow:)
