Creative Friday

My Tea Leaves Cardi is patiently lying in my basket while I work on this new design, it’s called the Cotswold Cowl and I am really enjoying the design aspects of it. I love how maths can be incorporated into knitting, so I have based the design for this cowl on the 8x table. The double knitting Merino wool I am using is from Colourspun, the colour variances are wonderful, chocolate brown, pink, maroon and even a little red. I should have it finished to show you in a few days.

Update for my dad:

Thank you so much for the continued support you have shown me concerning my dad, I am thrilled to say, that he is more awake and is speaking to us, he is also able to sit up now, which is amazing!! He’s going to be moved to a rehabilitation centre on Monday so that they can help him to gain strength in his arms and legs again. There has been a dramatic change and I am so grateful!! Spending time in the hospital has has left me humbled and filled with joy…

Love the creative Fridays, seeing lots of other people and what they are doing. I’m lucky this week, I get to work with another local artist, a photographer whose work I adore. It always gets the creative ideas flowing!

Linda–What happy news about your Dad!!! If he’s like most men I know, he will need you in a new way, now…and that is to reassure him that progress, even slow progress, is plenty. (It’s hard not to be impatient or frustrated when you just want to get back to normal.) I know that you will continue to
be a great source of comfort and encouragement for him! XXO-

I’m glad to read that your dad is recovering quickly, and I hope he continues to improve.

I have to admit, I’m a bit of a math geek when it comes to knitting, too. Right now I’m working on creating some plant dyed yarns for the first time.

    • Linda August 12, 2012 at 4:05 pm #

Thanks so much about my dad.

Your plant dyed yarns are amazing, I had a look at some you had dyed the other day!

Great to hear good news ! Thoughts and prayers are coming your way still 😉

I have been saving a ball of cashmere yarn for about a year and I think your cowl would be perfect!! Will you post your pattern or link to purchase it when it’s done?

Btw I love your blog !!
