Spirit the White Wolf Pattern and Giveaway

Today I have been designing and knitting Spirit, he is a white wolf. I have always wanted to add a wolf to my menagerie of animal knitting patterns and now here he is!

He is knitted both flat and in the round, if you prefer knitting flat, there are additional instructions added in the pattern for flat knitting. I have knitted him in a brushed Mohair yarn which is pliable and gives him a furry wolf appearance.

His pattern is available in my Etsy shop Mamma4earth.

My son is absolutely mad about wolves and huskies. He is slowly wearing me down about the husky, but I am trying to hold the line at present. I think if I could knit him a wolf it would give a few months dogfree breathing space. I’m a cat person!

Your wolf is adorable and very sweet (hard to believe those are words to describe a wolf). I think your pattern would also be very versatile and easily adapted to a variety of dog breeds. Hope I win.

He is a lovely wolf- In first nations culture white animals(that are usually not white- like spirit bears and buffalo) are veiwed with great respect being the incarnation of the spirits so he in also aptly named.

  44. K July 12, 2012 at 2:58 am #

Oh, Linda! You are a sculptor. I know we use almost the same pattern for each 4 footed nearly-domesticated animal, but you change them every time in subtle (read: only an artist could make these changes) way that gives the animal a very real spirit of its animal in the real world self. His face is marvelous – and his proportions. I am so sad I didn’t see him in time to throw in my lot, but I’m due to buy more from you. I’ll have to catalogue what I’ve got already –
