I have been enjoying knitting this Circumnavigate Cowl that I saw on Ginny’s blog last week. It is a beautiful pattern and I’m knitting it in a Camel Silk yarn, a roving that I bought on Etsy. I spun up the roving specifically for this project and I just love how soft it is. I tried to keep my spinning on an even double knitting weight and it turned out mostly even, except in a few places. This pattern is so easy to lengthen as well if you would like to make it larger.
My Tea Leaves Cardi is growing too, I have been knitting on it as much as possible but I can’t seem to put the Circumnavigate cowl down!
I have also finished designing and knitting up a Warthog pattern, his name is Frederick the Warthog. I think the name Frederick suits him somehow 🙂 His pattern will be available in my E-Book that will be published soon along with other African animal patterns.
Joining in with Ginny’s Yarn Along.

Your animal designs are so charming! The yarn you made is gorgeous. The cowl will be great.
Thank you Heather.
Oh that yarn is so pretty! And your tea leaves is looking great too. The warthog is too cute, you make the best animals!
You are so kind, thanks.
Beautiful as always, how I would love to do a tea leaves cardi… waiting for the time to be right and skill to improve- Great colours on the cowl.
I love the colors of your handspun yarn. The cowl pattern looks really nice. Also you Tea Leaves Cardigan looks very nice. Amazing work.
Linda, I would love to sit beside you and have you teach me how to spin, your yarn is so very beautiful! Your tea leaves is really coming along fast!
Oh Tracey, I am sure you would enjoy spinning, one day we will sit and spin together 🙂
The yarn for your cowl is just beautiful and I love the pattern
What a cutie Frederick is! And the color of the cowl is beautiful. You are a very talented woman – dyer, spinner, knitter, pattern maker, etc.
Thank you very much Ellen.
Linda! A warthog! And your gorgeous yarn! Not to speak of your cardigan! Is it any wonder that we all come to your blog to be inspired? (:
I seriously envy your ability to spin consistent yarn. I can’t seem to keep mine all the same thickness. I suppose it’s something I’ll learn over time. But the perfectionist in me is screaming. (:
Melissa, you are so kind:) It really wasn’t easy to spin that camel silk at first, it was really slippery, loved the colour so I just kept going and got the hang of it 🙂
xo xo
With such stunning yarn I don’t think I would be able to put the Circumnavigate down either! I really love that soft blue – so pretty!
Your blue and green yarn is beautiful, and it does look gorgeous as the beginning of your cowl. You gave me quite a chuckle this morning to, as your warthog shares my brother’s name and it is so completely appropriate.
Thanks for sharing
All your projects look so beautiful! The color of that yarn is just amazing, love the blue and grey combination in these shades.
The yarn is BEAUTIFUL, the cowl is LOVELY, the cardi is GORGEOUS, BUT, the warthog FABULOUS!!!!!!! Is this pattern only going to be available in your E book? I guess I should go pop over to Mamma4earth and check it out before asking. Love Fredrick. I desperately need to knit. I had to put down my 10 year old Great Dane last week and your patterns are keeping my mind busy and they make me smile. Can’t wait for your book.
Thank you so much Barb! I am very sorry to her about your beautiful Great Dane, it is hard to lose a treasured pet, I am thinking of you.
Frederick will be in the E-Book, it won’t be too long, I will be sending the finished document off soon to be published into E-Book format. I will let you know as soon as it is ready.
Warmly
Linda
What a cute little warthog!
Hey Linda, all beautiful knitting going on at your place, your cardi’s coming along beautifully and both the pattern and yarn for your cowl are wonderful, look forward to seeing them grow. My Yarn Along post today was inspired by one of your patterns : )

Oh Linda, the circumnavigate cowl is lovely. The yarn is just AMAZING! And the Tea Leaves is still one of my favorites. Your knitting is always so beautiful and inspiring!
Ohhhhhh, I just love the Circumnavigate Cowl! That yard is so very beautiful. Your cardigan is gorgeous. And Frederick looks just like his name!
Oh, that circumnavigate cowl is so cool! I love your choice of yarn for this.
Your stitch markers are really cute, did you make yourself?
The cowl yarn is absolutely beautiful. The subtle change in colours suits the pattern.
Everything is just amazing, but I have to say that the cowl is gorgeous! The yarn looks divine!
Such wonderful projects! I want to give Frederick a hug, and the cowl is marvellous. Such a cool shape, and the yarn is lovely.
Beautiful knitting!
Wow, you have a lot going on and it is all so wonderful. The cowl is going to be gorgeous in that yarn, and your cardi, amazing!!! Frederick, well he’s a keeper 🙂
Your cowl and yarn are scrumptious! And your Tea Leaves Cardi is inspiring. I’m thinking that Tea Leaves should be my next project.
The cowl design is elegant. I could do something like that – I’d never get bored, having to switch up the stitches that way. Delicious. And the warthog – FABULOUS!!!! And the Cardi – hon, everything you touch turns to magic.
When will your book of African animals be ready? I want to do a fund-raiser for an African Conservency and wanted to sell stuffies to raise money.
Hi Donna,
It shouldn’t be too long now, I have a farm animal book coming out first. I have taken a little break with the sudden illness and passing of my dear father…
I will keep updating my blog to let you know as soon as it is ready to be published.
Kind regards
Linda
