I am knitting on two projects and thouroughly enjoying both of them tremendously! The first project I am knitting in charcoal black is Jenna’s Harris Shrug, what a stunning pattern, just look at those stitches, Kate Ray, the designer, is so clever. I think this is going to be a favourite. I am knitting it in Dana’s Colourspun Aran weight Merino wool. Dana is an amzing fibre artist here in South Africa and dyes up beautiful colourways.

The Crochetnit bath mat is also at an exciting stage, I have started with the side border. Such a lovely design. I just love how the triangle points are constructed! This pattern is now avaliable on Ravelry as a download.
At the moment, I have been reading both of these wonderful books. The Jamie Oliver book is lovely and I have been cooking up delicious dinners for our family.

Ah the lovely Jamie, I just bought my husband his 30 minute meals book, to spur him into action in the kitchen! I love the stitch pattern on your shrug, so pretty..I would be constantly holding it up to admire it if I were knitting it! x

The shrug pattern is lovely! And I love the black color, such depth. It will look wonderful on Jenna. 🙂 That bathrug turned out amazing! How nice to have a functional, yet beautiful piece to find some small enjoyment from every day. Blessings, friend. <3
Gorgeous!! I love that bathmat…would love one but can’t imagine knitting one! Silly! I just signed out a Jamie Oliver cookbook at the library, and one on growing storage vegetables…looks like we both have wholesome food and sustainability on our minds!
Your bathmat is impressive- and very lovely 🙂
As for the shrug- it is lovely too! That looks like a fun knit 🙂
I love Jamie Oliver’s cookbooks as well…in fact I received 2 for my december birthday and 2 for Christmas, so now I have almost all of them. Aren’t the pictures just mouthwatering?
The shrug detail is so pretty. I just wish they worked better with my bigger bum. Sounds like there may be some yummy meals at your home in the coming weeks.
Both of your projects are coming along beautifully!! I still don’t know if I could stand on that bath mat though. It’s too pretty. 😀
I’m glad you are able to get away on vacation and to such a lovely spot! I saw the photo on FB of where you are staying. Just beautiful. Enjoy your time!
I think DK books are the bomb! They do such a great job.

Your knitting is gorgeous! I’ll just have to check out those patterns. Don’t the Strawbridges live in England. I think I remember seeing a wonderful PBS series on them. Thanks for the knitting and book info!

Love the elegant detail on the shrug and the very fun detail on the bath rug. I will never make either, I’m pretty sure, because the rows would be too long for my tiny attention span. But there you are. Will be exciting to see them finished.
Both of your projects are beautiful. LOVE the details. Enjoy your vacation.
