Last night at 8:22pm South African time, we started watching a spectacular lunar eclipse. It was a beautiful sight. We all stood and watched the moon mask into shadow and turn a blazing red colour. Truly magnificant to witness! I took some photos to share…

Stunning photos
wow! that’s pretty amazing to catch it so well.
I just saw the moon through a telescope last month and was floored that you could see the bumpy surface around the edge. All the way from earth!
truly amazing. thanks for sharing. you know, we were suppose to have the best ‘spot’ besides the moon, here in western australia. and i didnt even know about it . 🙁
Thank you sooo much for sharing the photos, as not everyone was as blessed to see it.
Thanks again!
God is so AWESOME!!
Val
Your pictures are absolutely stunning! I’ve actually missed the last lunar eclipse we had here and I so wanted to see it! So thank you for sharing this beauty with us!
We didn’t get to see it here in the US. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos.
Wonderful. We missed it the US. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic photos, had intended to watch it from here in the uk, but as usual we were thwarted by cloud cover! It had been sooooo nice all day then as soon as it was time for the eclipse to start, the sky went cloudy! Your photos have made up for us missing it thank you!
Here in the northern hemisphere my daughter watched it live on the internet. I needed to leave and Erin kept saying just a few more minutes mom it’s almost done!
Blessings, Debbie
amazing and awesome!!!!! it must have felt magical.
Breathtaking! I wish we could have seen it here in our part of the world.
Thank you so much for sharing! We tried to get a glimpse of the full moon lat night, but it was too cloudy.
great shots! Thanks for sharing them!
Wow, great pictures!
Wasn’t it goosebumps-all-over, take-your-breath-away? A timely kid waking saw me wander out into the back garden to spend some time breathing in the still and general amazingness. Then I hopped back under those warm blankets quick sticks!
Oh, well done. Well done.
I think these are the most beautiful photos of the eclipse I’ve seen yet. Thank you for sharing something so precious!
Stunning – my mom was telling me all about her ‘Dragon’ moon!! Lovely to see what she meant.
