A Simple Christmas Table Candle Ornament, Handmade Holiday 2010

I love the aroma of citrus in our home… It makes me think of Christmas… I have made this simple little, candle ornament that I will add to our Christmas table on Christmas day. It is really easy to make and looks quite sweet and effective.

Slice up a few oranges, make your slices quite thin.

Place them on a baking sheet into a heated oven, I put my oven onto a medium heat so that the slices wouldn’t burn.

When the one side has dried nicely, turn them over to dry the other side.

I arranged mine around a spiral dish, but most dishes would work and placed a candle in a holder in the centre.

Happy day to you:)

Oh, dear – I am going to have to admit that looking at your direction has made me crave an orange. Happily, I happen to have a fresh an lovely one close by. I am looking at the map of your visitors, and there are red circles beaming EVERYWHERE across the US RIGHT NOW. I suppose I am one of them, but there are so many, I can’t tell. Hello all you people who love LINDA!! HELLO!! and to the lone person somewhere in Europe = bonjour! (It’s my only European language).

With that, I have finally reached home. I have saved the Fridays and the magazine for later.

I know it doesn’t make a lick of diff whether I am here or not – there are so many in this room here with us – but it matters to me. Thank you again for all you do.

I love this idea! We have our Advent wreath on the table already but I think we can make room for oranges.

Me too! I really want an orange now. I had a grapefruit and was trying to dry it, but I couldn’t figure it out. What temp on the oven do you recommend? I love the smell of citrus, it also reminds me of Christmas.
