Today, Richard my husband went off for a long mountain bike race in another town, a few hours later, I received a call from a hospital to tell me that he had a serious biking accident… He had fallen off of a bridge into a river and had hit his head on rocks on the riverbed… His helmet is cracked and dented. After x-rays and CAT scans, he is here home with us, he is wearing a neck brace and has a huge swelling on his head…
Life is fragile… I am humbled and and words cannot express how grateful I am that he is here with us and out of danger…
Wow, Linda, I don’t know what to say. I’m thankful that your husband is ok and hope that his neck and head heal quickly. ((hugs)) I’ll bet that was a terrifying call to receive.
Oh my goodness! I am so glad he’s ok!
My husband is a cyclist and every time he leaves the house I dread that sort of phone call.
You must have been terrified.
I’m so glad to hear that everything is okay–I’ll keep him in my thoughts & prayers…hoping for a speedy recovery & little pain.
YIKES! hope he recovers quickly. My husband had a mountain biking accident when I was pregnant and broke his collar bone among other things. It is scary.
Sending healing thoughts your way.
I’m glad he’s OK. How terrifying.
Really bad news. The importance is he is quite well and you are taking car of him.
May thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband for a speedy recovery….life is precious.
Oh Linda, how awful but how wonderful that he well enough to be at home. Take care.
love
Jenny
Oh Linda…yes life is so fragile. I was grateful, too, that Emily was not hurt too badly in her own accident yesterday. Scares like this really remind us to hold our dear ones closely & tightly.
Angels are truly shining down on your family. I am sending loving and healing thoughts to you and your husband – to your whole family, as this affects everyone. Please take care-
Sending healing energy your way Linda.
Blessed be,
Nicole
The photograph on this entry – how strange, that you’d have such a distressing brush with mortality, when the image is so etherial. My son in law is a cyclist also, and the same thing happened to my daughter in law – the terrifying call. And it was a bridge. He had to have his collar bone re-built. He was very, very lucky – and can no longer go through metal detectors with ease. I am so grateful that your love is all right. Bless his heart. These men – they go out looking for trouble.
Hugs to you, Linda. Wishing a speedy recovery to your husband. xoxo much love.

Life is fragile.
I’m feeling the same way too. I’m trying to appreciate the every little tiny moment with my love one now.
I hope everything to be ok for you and your family, cheer up.

Thoughts and prayers to you from me. . .
wow linda! i can not imagine how worried you must have been and how very relieved you were to have him return home. wishing you all well!
Relief! Horrid to get a glimpse of tragedy but liberating too… reminds us to live with all our hearts for this moment, doesn’t it. So glad he is OK and that you can look after him and nurse him back to health. Phew… lucky, Linda.
Sending him blessings and magic.
Thank God he is ok, I hope he continues to improve.
