Oh my! Your yarn and roving is so beautiful. Makes me want to get some hands on some. I’m seriously considering getting a rabbit since I can’t have a sheep. How does angora compare to wool when spinning? I’ve never used it before.

Another lovely post Linda!! Please can you tell me where you bought your fibre from. It looks stunning. I am still searching for a wheel. I would never have imagined it would be so difficult!! I am also still waiting for my brochure which Lindsay from Ashford has sent me. I can see I am going to have to beg borrow and steal (only joking!) the money and buy a new Ashford! Did you really teach yourself!! I don’t think I will have a clue where to start! You are so lucky to have a daughter you can do this kind of thing with, I have 3 sons!! Will MMS you a photo of the room’s progress, how is yours coming on?? I think mine will all be finished by about next week Wednesday!

    Thanks so much Sarah!

I have spun Angora that has come straight off of the rabbit and it is tricky, but you will soon get the hang of it. There is a lovely tutorial on a great spinning site called The Joy of Handspinning that shows one how to spin the fiber. They spin it from the fold and it works! If it is spun from a roving, it is ever so soft and lovely to spin. I love spinning Angora and Camel Silk and, and , and …. I just love to spin.

    Thanks so much for visiting:)

    Hi Rene’

Thanks so much about the post 🙂 I bought this fibre from Juno Fiber Arts on Etsy. She has the most divine soft fibre, here is the link to her shop http://www.junofibre.etsy.com she really dyes beautiful luxury rovings…

I did teach myself to spin, watched plenty of tutorials on You Tube and The Joy of Handspinning, chatted to my spinning friend Carle’ who lives in another province about spinning continuously 🙂 And then one day I got it right and I have loved it ever since. It really is like riding a bike, a little tricky in the beginning, but once you have it, it will always be with you 🙂

I am looking forward to seeing your work room progress. My ceiling is in and the walls have been screeded and the floors. Just have to put the wooden floors in and paint 🙂 I will see if I can find a wheel for you, I will contact Ingrid from the Weavers Guild 🙂

    Have a great day 🙂

I can see why these are all things you are loving. 🙂

I’ve heard of the book before, and I just checked with my library and they have it! I have it on hold. Happy dance. 🙂
