Bits and Pieces Over the Weeks

It is wonderful and quiet in the house as I am writing this blog post, it is early hours of the morning and everyone is asleep, but I am having some mom time to myself and it is wonderful! I know I have been quiet over the last few weeks, we have been rennovating our very old home, that is in need of some definate TLC.

We have been painting, sanding our wooden floors and beams and just fixing up everything that needs to be done. The dust has been unbelievable from all the sanding and scraping down of the walls, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

I have posted a few photos from the last few weeks, and we have been spending more time outdoors because of all the work going on inside. Our home is starting to look lovely though and I will blog it all when we are finished….

Caiden helping remove rubble from the passage, wow, he really enjoyed this…

Some other members of our family, they all have names and are very special, Kristie, look at all these bunnies….

Jenna, built a pulley all by herself with a break system with no help from anyone, we are all very impressed, I think we have a future engineer in our midst. Our children have had such fun, even I had a turn and it was fantastic…

Jen and Kye going for a ride…

Aaaaah, precious…

Kye having his turn on the pulley….

My lounge, still looks like this, except all the insulation from the roof is on the floor and the wooden floor is still unsealed, I can’t wait for it to be finished…

So all in all a really productive few weeks and some other great news, I have found a supplier of beautiful certified organic Merino wool, I will be selling this in my shop and knitting my treasures in this wool too, I have already added an organic lamb and I am busy with my first organic horse. I am knitting him now while I am posting this blog post and he looks beautiful! He is creamy white, so soft and full of organic goodness…

I wish all of you a fantastic weekend and thanks so much for stopping by, leave a comment before you go, I always love to see who has stopped in for a visit…

That pulley looks like so much fun! Sounds like a lot of work, but how exciting to get your home fixed up the way you want it.

Lots of happenings around your home, Linda! That pulley system is really fantastic. Love the pictures of your son helping out with the rubble. Beautiful little rabbits too!

That is SO cool. Jenna would be my kids’ hero if she came for a visit and showed them how to build something like that. 😉 And that Kye is just cute as a button.

That pulley is great! Was it from a kit? I bet the house will be wonderful. I can’t wait to see pictures of your finished home! I know you will be relieved when it is all done.

    🙂

Hello everyone, thanks so much, I think we are almost finished with the building, I can’t wait.

Lovey, the pully was something Jenna put together, she asked me to take her to the hardware shop for some long, thick nylon rope and a double pulley, she drew a picture, which I must find and blog and then she built it outside with a break system. Richard and I were both really impressed, we thought she had learnt how to do this at Sea Scouts, but they hadn’t taught them this yet. She said she could just see how it worked in her mind.

Thanks so much for all your comments, I really love hearing from all of you.

I love all your BLOG posts. The pulley brought back memories of when my eldest (now 14) built one to get her pencil box from the floor to her desk. Hmm…interestingly that eldest, Mosi, is now on a trip to South Africa this week. I am dying for her to come back and tell me how it was! I love all your knitted animals. So cuddly and the white is so pure and welcoming. And your bunnies!!! I just want to gather them into my arms and have one BIG snuggle session!

Hello Kristie, it is wonderful that you stopped by! I can’t wait to hear what Mosi thinks of South Africa. Thank you for being so kind about my blog and knitted animals! I love our bunnies, they are the sweetest….
