Late this afternoon I went for a walk around our garden to see what I would find. The cool evening air was welcome after such a hot day, 35 degrees C. A friendly Crested Barbet was sitting on our Mulberry tree, I know he was eyeing all the fruit in the garden, he sat just long enough for me to take a few shots of him and then off he flew.
Our Just Joey roses are in bloom, their perfume is heavenly…
I am so excited about our Naartjie trees, this one in particular is covered with blooms, it looks like we will have plenty of fruit this year.
I love where we live, right near to a pan, early evening, hundreds of water birds fly back to this pan for the night…
The Brunfelsia is flowering, so pretty.
Our grape vine has come back to life and I am so looking forward to making wine again next year, it’s a wonderful family activity, I just need to buy the yeasts and then around January we will harvest the grapes and start the process.
This afternoon was lovely, Richard came home from work early, we managed to go out for a short while and have some tea, just the two of us, while my mom looked after the children and then we went grocery shopping. It was so nice to spend time together.
This last week, I found my mountain bike way in the back of the garage, I dusted it off and have started riding again, it feels so good to be out in the sun exercising. I ride with Jen in the afternoons around the pan, we have even ventured right out around the golf course, we have lovely chats and try to ride at least 11 or 12 km every second day. It was really difficult at first but now it’s getting a lot easier, yeah!
