Bark

Bark www.naturalsuburbia.com

We went walking over the weekend and I spotted this beautiful tree bark, love the texture. Jen is back from Australia and Erin’s back from PLTU scout camp. It’s good to have everyone home again. We’ve started off our school journey again, only three schooling now, Jen is off to university next month, I’m SO excited for her!!

Flowers www.naturalsuburbia.com

Richard came home with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me, I really adore these beautiful surprises!

Hat

I’ve started a new hat design, I think it should be a knit-along. I’m knitting in Mama Jude’s naturally dyed worsted yarn, too beautiful!! I’m enjoying the pattern so far.

Lou and Charlie

At last, Lou and Charlie are friends, Lou is such a lovely addition to our fur-baby family, he’s so full of energy and loves being around people.

The Rain is Here!

Sunflower

Hello!

We’ve been so busy with exams etc… that I haven’t had much time to pop in here to post about what we been up to, so I thought I’d share a little of what’s been happening. This beautiful sunflower self-seeded and popped up in our little garden by our front door, it makes me happy each time I see it!

Lou

We have a new family member! Meet Lou, we thought she was a she but today we discovered she is actually a he! He is the cutest little guy, very active and quite mischievous indeed! So far we’ve introduced him to Olive and she seems to tolerate him but our other cat Charlie is not interested in a new family member at all. We’ll have to give him some time to get used to Lou.

Lunch

Lunch!

Veggies

Our veggie garden growing just outside my kitchen, it’s worked so well, the birds haven’t touched our spinach for the first time ever! Yay!

Pepper

I’m so proud of this pepper, it’s absolutely huge and bi-coloured!

Roman

We all attended a Roman themed party on Saturday night, it was such fun to dress up!

Squash

These Souties Squash also self-seeded in the front garden along with the Sunflower, I can’t wait to taste them! (the squash that is!)

Storm

We have been experiencing the most terrific thunderstorms this week! It literally hasn’t rained for weeks and now, the rain seems to be here!! Thank goodness, my poor garden is saved 🙂

Yarn Along

Bougenvillia

Hello friends,

We began school again this week and Jen begins grade 12 finals next Thursday! I still can’t believe she’s matriculating this year!! Richard is off riding Berg & Bush and loving it. I’ve been busy with my Henrietta Hedgehog test knit and knitting. I also watched the most informative video regarding cancer here, today, it’s long but so important and very interesting. If you have a chance, try to watch some of it.

Our weather has been incredibly hot and dry recently, it seems to agree with this Bougainvillea though, it has never flowered like this in all the years we’ve had it!

Spinach

I’ve decided to plant quite a few veggies in the window box right outside our kitchen, whenever I plant spinach in the veggie patch at the bottom of the garden, the Hadedas’ strip it bare. Just look how well this has grown in my new veggie spot! Yay! There’s nothing like popping out the door and picking supper 🙂

Spike Miriam

This is the first completed test knit project for the new Henrietta Hedgehog pattern over on my Ravelry group. Thanks so much Miriam! Miriam named her project Spike! Love him!

Bath Mat

I’m busy knitting a cotton bath mat. I have plenty of bulky cotton and thought it would knit up into an exceptionally soft mat.

Joining the Yarn Along today.

Henrietta

Hello,

I’ve been knitting up a storm and have really loved designing Henrietta the Hedgehog, we will have a test knit of the pattern soon on my Ravelry group.

Petria

Our Spring garden is bursting with beauty and the most gorgeous variations of the colour green. I just love it!! Above is the beautiful Petria creeper in full bloom, takes my breath away…

Eggs

A few eggs collected from our chickens yesterday, some are brown, some are white, others cream and of course slightly speckled.

Delilah

Here is our precious girl Delilah lying on the couch in our bedroom this morning on her favourite blanket…

Today I am grateful for:

My family, helpful people, friends, our health, our beautiful pets, clean running water and food to eat each day. What are you grateful for today?

Hope your weekend is just lovely…
