This was such a fun little project to knit up:) So quick using oddments of yarn…
Materials:
4mm circular needles for Magic Loop
or
Four 4mm double pointed needles for knitting in the round
2 Double pointed needles for knitting the i-cord
Red yarn for the apple
Wool needle for sewing in the ends

Pattern:
Cast on 10 stitches, join for knitting in the round, Magic Loop Technique, (or DPNs’ in the round)
Round 1: Knit
Round 2: Knit into the front and back of each stitch. (20 stitches)
Round 3: Knit.
Round 4: Knit into the front and back of each stitch. (40 stitches)
Rounds 5-15: Knit
Row 16: No longer knitting in the round, purl 2 together, purl the entire row, purl 2 together on the end. (38 stitches)
Row 17: Knit 2 stitches together, knit across row, knit 2 stitches together. (36 stitches)
Row 18: Purl 2 stitches together, purl across row, purl 2 stitches together. (34 stitches)
Row 19: Knit
Row 20: Purl
Row 21: Knit
Row 22: Purl
Row 23: (knit 1 stitch knit 2 stitches together across the row) (23 stitches)
Row 24: Purl
Bind off
From row 16 you are no longer knitting in the round, you are just knitting back and forth in rows as seen in the above photo.
Once you have cast off, pick up 2 stitches with your double pointed needles and knit an i-cord for a loop about 2 and a half inches long. (Just measure once you have sewn on your button to make sure of the length).
Sew the i-cord on to the top of the cozy where you picked up the 2 stitches and make a loop.
Sew in all your ends, sew on a sweet button opposite the loop, place an apple into your cozy and fasten the loop:)
You are finished!
