I was so excited to see that the little guava tree I bought over a year ago has started to bear fruit! When I was young, I lived in Port Elizabeth near the sea, we had a beautiful garden with two huge guava trees. All those memories from my childhood come flooding back just by seeing this tiny fruit starting to grow. We used to pick as many guavas as we could eating them right off the tree. My granny used to stew them and we’d eat them with homemade custard. So delicious! Our winters are quite cold here, so I’m really hoping this tree will survive, I thought planting the tree in a pot for now would be best and next summer we can transplant it into the ground.
Today has been a full day, Jenna and Erin wrote the last of their tests, their friends came over, Kye went to his swimming lesson, I managed to pop out to the health shop, came home and later fetched the girls from their science class. I can’t wait to sit down and knit a few rows on my knitting… It’s been a good day!
Hope your Monday is happy and productive.

Watching fruit bearing tree is always fun. We are excitedly watching the pomegranate plant in our back yard and devising a plan to protect the fruit from the birds.
Guavas…so exotic. What lovely memories they evoked for you.
Am definitely liking your blog and will add it to my blog roll when next at the PC.
