Family Open Water Swim

Dawkins Family

This morning after hockey practice, we drove to the dam to support everyone taking part in an open water swim. The purpose of the swim was to raise money for the Rovers to travel overseas and take part in the Canoe Polo world championships. Richard swam with our older children, Kye and I waited for them on the side of the dam. I think I’ll give it a try next year, it looked like such fun! It’s still raining here after about 2 weeks, which means, I’ll be knitting more I guess…. That’s just fine with me!

Happy day to you!

Guy is all into open water swimming now. He’s triathaloning. I think all of you are crazy! I like my waters (the ones I put myself into) to be tame and in captivity!! How great that the girls did it. I love your family.

      Hello Kristen!

It’s lovely to hear from you!

I did think they were quite brave going into that dam water, not the cleanest water by far. Just the thought of it going into my mouth as I swam was a little offputting. So I’ve decided that by next year I would have had enough time to prepare myself and will join in for the swim 😉

I hope you are all well and how fantastic that Guy is triathaloning! Well done!!
      Chat soon dear friend.
      xx

What a super family activity that has a good benefit as well. Totally a good day. Love swimming and miss the warm Caribbean waters in which I played for nearly thirty years; the waters here off northern California are only 13C and compared to the tropical 31C that I grew to love.

Your panda in the right sidebar looks wise and all-knowing to me, Linda, he’s a real beauty.
