I’ve really been enjoying designing and knitting these little creatures lately, this large, plump owl, 8 inches tall, is called The Guardian Owl. He is almost ready to be test knitted, I’ll be opening up a test knit thread for him soon on my Ravelry group.
This week so far we’ve been busy with schooling, I’ve been walking 6 km each morning with my dear friend, chatting about so many things, it’s wonderful to have someone to exercise with and talk to. I’ve pulled out our dehydrator from deep within the depths of a spare room cupboard, dusted it off and have been dehydrating bananas, apples and various other things and also searching for healthy snacks to make for my family. It’s been great fun. I find that if Kye, in particular, eats ANYTHING with preservatives, sugar or colourant in it, it sends him over the edge which turns our day quickly to utter disaster, so I’m really trying hard to make healthy food from now onwards. It isn’t always easy to keep this up when your household is busy and it’s like those bad food habits are just waiting in the sidelines to slowly creep back in, so I’m going to try to be vigilant! (She says, really, really hoping that she can be, ahem…) I have just made supper while dancing around the kitchen listening to the music from Imagine Dragons, they’re wonderful! I’ve found so much goodness in my day today, I wish that for you too!
I love him…I knew I would. I’m pretty sure I even have the perfect yarn in my bin. Now if the arthritis will hold off as a dull roar, maybe I can knit myself a little treat (I’m pretty sure Etsy will notify me as soon as you list the pattern).
Thank you Natalie, I’m so happy you love him x
Lovely owl! I look forward to knitting him! 🙂
Thank you Else:)
What an adorable owl! I have been into knitting them lately myself. They make great little gifts.
cute!!! 🙂 all the best on the food front; it’s hard, hey?
Oh my, that is the cutest little owl ever! love it!
Oh so adorable! If I didn’t already have a million things on my knitting list, I’d be working on something so cute. Maybe I should make this one million and one.
He’s adorable! and he looks very cuddly! I’ll have to make him someday too! <3
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for your wishes for goodness in my day. The beauty of the trees outside my kitchen window and the unseasonably cool weather today for August breaking the heat waves we have been having also are part of that goodness. Your imposing owl has contributed to that goodness. It looks like it might be a great thing to put in the dining room windows to ward off the robins and cardinals from attacking their reflections in the glass in spring. The Guardian is a totally appropriate name. Just looking at him makes me smile. He exudes gravitas. I would love a chance to knit him.
Thank you for your message Barbara. The thread for the test knit is now open on my Mamma4earth Ravelry group if you would like to test knit him:)
Really lovely
Oh, I’d love to test knit him, Linda!

Very fetching owl. I saw a slow motion video on Facebook of an owl flying right towards you. It was so cool!
CAn I ask what you filled him with?
