Kye has always loved having tea parties and seeing as I love tea parties too, I’m always happy to join him for one. He likes to fetch the special tea pot from the cupboard that Richard and I were given for our wedding by Auntie June. This is such a beautiful pot, it’s part of an early morning tea set handmade in Zimbabwe. It only has two cups and saucers, a sugar bowl and a milk jug. The other cups and saucers are odd leftover pieces from other sets.
Kye pours the tea, adds the sugar and milk and I knit. Such wonderful time spent together, making tea and mama knitting…
That looks like such a special time between the two of you!
How lovely for you both, very civilised
thats elephant cup is lovely!
So sweet! Much nicer than gulping down some packaged beverage in a plastic bottle. Again, it’s interesting to an American to catch a little glimpse of life in South Africa. Native wildlife, milk in your tea, what must be a different kind of sugar than I’m used to, the mere concept of a “proper” tea, brewed in a pot and imbibed from china cups. A pleasant ritual I wish I had tried with my son.
What a wonderful way to spend time together 🙂
Truly precious. Enjoy these times.
These are times we treasure
You are making special memories together that you will both will never forget. Aren’t boys special?? Girls too, but in a different way. I would never have believed it had I not had one of each. Time gets away, so enjoy your memory making teas.
I love this time spent with him as well as baking but a tea party is my favourite 🙂
Happy weekend!
