Today has been a rather stressful day….
The week started off with a lovely test knit for my Seaglass Cowl, how exciting! The stressful part is that today I was working out the measurement for each pattern repeat and a horrid realisation dawned on me. I had an incorrect number of rows!! The incredibly sad part about all of this is that a few of the knitters have already knitted through this incorrect area of the pattern and are short of yarn! Well, I was mortified to say the least, I know I’m only human and seriously don’t know how I overlooked the row count.
After much embarrassment, my wonderful group test knit moderator, Carle’ and I had to tell everyone that there was a mistake and they would have to possibly frogg their work because of my error, eeek! It was hard but definitely the right thing to do. I waited, agonising most of the day for their response and do you know what, they have been just wonderful!! I was told quite plainly not to worry and that this is exactly what test knits were all about, working the ‘kinks’ out of patterns! What a kind bunch of knitters these people are!! I feel humbled by this experience, truly, all those knitted rounds take a very long time to get through and I am very aware of this, so really, as I said, I am humbled….
Thank you
It is exactly what test knitting is all about. So glad you discovered the error and have such kind testers.
Me too, thanks Heather:)

Well, as a knitter awaiting your next pattern, I thank you and your ” testers”! Your patterns are lovely and a joy to knit. Great pictures on your post too!
Thank you Sharon:)
I’m sure they didn’t mind one bit, like you say, it’s part and parcel of a test knit.
Have a good weekend.
You too, thank you Emma:)
