Meet Harriet the Hippo, she is a sweet character and I just love her tremendously, she is sitting here right next to my computer as I am typing and she makes me smile each time I look at her face:) Here is the link to her pattern details on Ravelry, if you feel you would like to favorite the pattern, that would be so kind:)
I know I was saving her for the African Animals knitting book and she will still be in it but I really wanted to share her now so I have made her pattern available on my Mamma4earth shop.
She is knitted in Aran weight wool with 4mm needles, she is knitted in 2 parts, the body and the head, I did want her to be a single piece knit but then I couldn’t get that wonderful head shape that I wanted so much. Harriet is an easy knit, the body is knitted flat in stocking stitch and the head is knitted in the round. The pattern has increasing and decreasing and a little braided tail.

Harriet is just lovely! I am trying to knit my way past a scarf. Happy weekend, Hanneke
Love Harriet! Just perfect.
Linked up with some spinning from recent weeks, getting back into the groove with the spinning, and sorting/planning uses of the handspun stash so may have more to link up with in the future. So many patterns, so little time but planning my autumn/winter evenings!
That hippo is super sweet 🙂

Your little hippo has a marvelous and satisfying shape. I am afraid of hippos, actually, knowing how quick and strong and not all that friendly they can be in the wild. But this one makes me smile. She’d make a very good hugger.
