I was doing some research on Pilkingtons and came across this. I worked for Bryan from 1987 to 1993 as his Engineering Manager. I totally respected and admired him despite his somewhat direct attitude. He saw things as black and white – right or wrong. I have many stories!!
He was devastated when I told him I was taking my family to New Zealand. Didn’t talk to me for two weeks. However we did eventually part on good terms. I hope you are all well

Linda, my warmest sympathy! I feel and grief with you as my dear mother passed away last night as well. I’m in Canada and she was in Denmark, so I wasn’t with her when she died, but we had a wonderful month when I was back home in June.
It’s a great loss, but the sweet memories will live on forever in our hearts.

i am so sorry for your loss. I stil miss my mother who has been gone just days short of 7 yrs. Recently, II read a comment by another adjusting to loss just a year ago and her solace has been that he is not the missing link but the one who has gone first on the journey we will take and eventually the circle of family will be reconnected. Perhaps that can be a solace to you.

Dear Linda, I only just heard about your father’s passing. I am so sorry and can fully understand what you and your family especially your dear mum are going through. I can only say that it does get easier but it takes a lot of time and tears and memories before there can be laughter mixed with the pain. Your dad will forever be safe in your heart. There is not a day that has gone by since my dad died last year when I haven’t thought of him with tenderness and love. Take care and let your grief take the time it has to.
