Kye has been working on his rainbow stick weaving today, he sat there for about 45 minutes totally absorbed in what he was doing. He just has to weave the last colour band of mauve and then his scarf is finished. Caiden is going to make one next.
Other wonderful news is that Kye can ride his bike, by himself! He is thrilled! Isn’t it fantastic when children reach certain milestones, sometimes early, sometimes later but always at the perfect time that is right for each of them.
Have a lovely day, I’m off to find a sunny spot and read Wuthering Heights…

What a set of accomplishments for Kye! Way to go
Complimenti a Kye per la sua sciarpa, è bellissima, mette allegria solo a guardarla e complimenti per i traguardi che conquista.
Congratulations to Kye on both counts. I am very jealous of your weather. Send some over! x
Those weaving sticks are awesome! I have never seen them before but now I have to get a set. I can’t knit (I want to learn though) but this would be a fun start. And maybe my eldest would enjoy it too. Thanks so much for sharing!!
SO COOL!! The weaving and the bike riding!! I LOVE that scarf, going to have to check out stick weaving!!
Félicitations to Kye! what a great colour bike!!
Weaving looks amazing! Guess he takes after both his creative mum and his mountain biking Dad!
Good work, Klye.
I’ve never seen weaving sticks, just googled it!
I saw your Jan blog post, I’ll pass it on. Looks like a good summmer project for a few little girls I know. (I’m not sure the little boys I know would like to do it, but I could be wrong.) thanks
Wow, the weaving looks beautiful and congratulations on the bike riding, such a wonderful past time.
this is all so awesome linda! how cool that kye is weaving his own scarf and riding his own bike too, i love these milestones. how proud he must feel. xxx lori
Oh, wow, Linda, I’ve never seen stick weaving before! It looks so simple, yet so very effective! What a lovely activity for Kye to spend time on. xx
I remember being where Kye is now – that just having learned to ride thing. So exciting, but still a little scary -
And yes, I’d certainly choose to read the book in a SUNNY spot, considering the shadow it casts -
