I have been knitting on my Tea Leaves Cardi and I am not sure but I think it might be a little on the big side, oh, I hope not, but I am going to knit further to the dividing of the stitches for the armhole and see how it fits then, hopefully it will be ok. What I am trying to understand and I have knitted this project according to the pattern, but my yolk pattern section definitely does not come down the top of my arm as far as it does in the pattern photos. I am using the stipulated yarn and needle size. Has anyone ever encountered this?
I am enjoying this knit though and the colours are so subtle and I love that. I have attempted to photograph the shades on the wool above for you to see…
Hope you are having a wonderful week…

I haven’t knit this pattern, but I’m sure someone will be able to help you. I do hope it all works out Linda, it’s very lovely.
Thank you Tracey, I’m just going to keep knitting and then try it on after the armholes, then I will have a better idea of the size.
its looking great! isn’t it funny that a circle like that manages to become a cardi:) I remember finding the same that the patern was above my shoulder un-like the picture but its stretched a little with wash and wear (perhaps after the first wash, I cant remember) and now it covers my shoulders nicely. I hope your fit turns out ok, that must be the trickiest part of knitting
This is great news, thank you Karen!
It looks so pretty. I haven’t made this pattern before, but my sister has and I know it is such a pretty cardigan. Sorry I can’t offer any advise. Good luck with it.
Hey Linda,
Your cardigan is looking lovely in the wool.
Sorry, still too much of a novice to have encountered that problem, I am sure it will work out fine!
I see the weathers’ still great on that side of the globe….wish I could walk around in a T-shirt
xoxox
Thanks Nat, I’m sure it will be fine:) We are still wearing T-shirts here, Autumn has been quite mild so far.

Hi Linda,
I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. (You can find more info on my Blog).
Thank you for being such an inspiration, and for being who you are!

I can’t offer any advice but the yarn is so soft! I hope it fits well!
It looks great. I have gigantic shoulders and this is always the case for me regarding sleeve length. When I make long sleeve cardis I wait a little before decreasing the sleeve so it isn’t too tight on my arm and for short sleeve cardis I just make the sleeve a bit longer. Looks great!
I love how your yarn is knitting up
It looks lovely, I’m working on a daisy cardigan for my daughter, but in crochet
knitting is my summer learning goal
Wow, it looks lovely. Fingers crossed it fits.
I’m no help as I’ve not knit something like this but I do like your yarn and what you’ve done looks very nice!
I hope the pattern ends up working out. Hard to put some much anticipation, time, energy, and work into something only to have it not fit.
Looking Lovely Linda! I can’t help with the fit as I have yet to cast on one of these cardis
your sweater looks so pretty linda! i’m making the same pattern right now (along with little pockets) and mine is fitting the same. i do think it pulls down when the body is knit. i had to go down to a size 5 and 6 needle to get gauge. xox lori
I have just finished my tea leaves and it did look the same while I was knitting it, now that it is finished it does come down the shoulders a little more (the neck is quite wide on this pattern) although still not as far as the photos shown in the pattern – still looks great though. Yours does look lovely so far…..
Linda, I just finished this cardi a few weeks ago. Mine didn’t come down on the shoulders as much as it seemed in the picture either but it fit great! I’m sure yours will be just fine
.
I remember thinking that my tea leaves didn’t seem to look like the pattern either, but it ended up working. And it did come out a tad big, even though I made it in my size to (hopefully) fit snugly. Oh well, it’s still a great sweater!
