These are all our sweet new family additions that arrived over the weekend. We bought some new chickens, the gorgeous black and white ones are called Koek Koeks and the brown ones are Buff Orpingtons. They have the most amazing natures, so gentle and calm. The Rhode Island Red chicken above in the tree is Millie, she is having a look at this new lot from a high vantage point.
Our rescued doves that live in our aviary have just had two eggs hatch with the loveliest chicks!! This has been the most wonderful experience.
I am also knitting a new pattern and it should be ready in a few days.
Wishing you a peaceful Monday…

Oh, how I MISS having laying hens
Great photos and terrific patterns you have! If only I could do needlecrafts, LOL.
I love your stitch markers and your hens are beautiful. We desire to have chickens…buff orpingtons, too. We hope to have them in a few years when we can get permission from our city. Thanks for the pattern special…I’ll have to check that out.;)
You newest family members are beautiful Linda! I have been thinking of trying a few new breeds and the Koek Koeks may just be it! I will do a little research to see how they would do in my climate. And your dove is a beauty too. Congratulations on the new babies!
I wish so much that my city would allow us to have chickens. They will not! Yours are beautiful. Thank you for the “Easter Special”. I will have to pop over to your patterns and decide which ones to get.
linda your chooks are gorgeous, i cant WAIT to have the little feathered friends in my yard. your knitting is beautiful . x
Oh my, is right!! Such a lovely site to see all your hens. So much fun!!
We are getting our chicks soon, going to be an exciting summer around here.
It is getting to be chick season here. We had chicks a few years ago but when I was having to move the chickens off the kids in the morning I just had to find the chickens a new home LOL. The kids just couldn’t understand that their chickens were not house pets
The new girls are so lovely. They look soft. I’d like to run my hands down their feathers. We have two buffs across the street. And a Red. Some day I will own a chicken. No. Wait. The puppies. Maybe I won’t. But then – these puppies – the only things they lay are pretty non-productive. Sigh.
Oh the color. The color! My hungry eyes haven’t seen that much color in months… Beautiful hens.
Blessings, Debbie
The doves are very sweet! Thank you for your Easter gift. I have visited your lovely shop and purchased a daffodil pattern that I want to attempt for Easter.
