This knitting book will include a large variety of patterns and instructions as well as information about all our local yarn makers and dyers here in South Africa. The author and publisher are still deciding on a title for the publication but as soon as I know what it is, I will update everyone:) It will be avaliable for sale here on my blog as well as from local South African book shops, internet book shops and also oversease. The book will be avaliable in English and Afrikaans.
I have just spoken to the author and she has a lovely proposal. There is a search going on for a title for this book, please feel free to comment and leave your suggestion for a title. If your suggestion is chosen, you will be sent a free copy of the book when it is published wherever you are in the world! I am looking forward to your suggestions:)
I will be adding this little Aardvark to my Etsy shop for sale soon too:)
Tomorrow, I will be sharing my Easter Rabbit knitting pattern on my blog as a tutorial for everyone:) Thank you so much for all your comments and those who follow this space:)
Have a wonderful day:)
Warmly
Linda

Congratulations on being selected to contribute a pattern to the book, Linda. What an honor. It sounds like a terrific book and I look forward to seeing it.
Your aardvark is adorable.
I love that Earth Piggy…he is really wonderful my friend!
Congratulations! What a great opportunity ! How wonderful for you.
That aardvark is sooooo cute!!!! :0)
Thank you so much Linda, I love the aardvark – can’t wait to see the next one!
yay! congrats! I have always wished you sold/shared more of your patterns, so I’m super excited to make up the rabbit!
HOLY FLIPPING CATS!!! HOW DO YOU DO IT? What an amazing aardvark. What an incredible job of engineering – and such character in his face. You BLOW ME AWAY. If the rest of the patterns in this book come close to this quality and charm, I already yearn after it. Titles are, in my opinion, the toughest part of a book. I have done well with some and totally crashed and burned with others. I need to know more about the other patterns. Are they all going to be animals and things that are significant of South Africa?
If I were shopping for a book, I’d take a second look if I ran across a title that had the magic of Africa woven into it. And the word, Africa.
I wish I were more familiar with the idiom of your local English – but then, if the book is meant for a world-wide audience, you don’t want to use a word in the title that will be too local in meaning.
I’d want it say something like:
Knit the Magic of Africa
Magic Africa
Knitting Africa: the story of natural African wools
Project Africa: knitting exotic toys
The Woolly Aardvark (and other magical knitting projects)
Lekker Knit: brilliant South African knitted projects
Something like that?
