Soon after we moved into our home over seven years ago, we decided to plant a fragrant rose garden. The show we have had this spring has been spectacular… The only different ingredient we added to their care this year has been the liquid worm compost that has been harvested from our faithful worm bin. I cannot believe the difference it has made, wow!
Happy Tuesday everyone…

Oh my goodness, all of those roses are BEAUTIFUL!
So your worm compost has been successful? We’ve been considering it again. We tried our hand at it before and were not very good caretakers of our little friends. I think we need a better setup like you have.
Hi Lovey,
Our worm compost has really been great and I can see the difference definatley, even the lemon trees that were watered with diluted worm compost are Laden with lemons that are just full of juice 🙂
Another question – do you also put manure or vegetable compost on your beds (in addition to the worm “wee”)?
Absolutely stunning Linda. I would love to have such beautiful (and so many!) roses to pick and put in vases in my house!
We do put compost into our beds, we use our chicken manure and rabbit manure, kitchen scraps too. We let it really rot down well, add some comfrey and horse manure to it and when it has turned to that beautiful crumbly rich compost we dig it into our beds. But this year we added the liquid worm “wee” and it has been amazing 🙂 I actually moved our worm bin into our kitchen because I found that they got a little neglected in the garage. Now I give them kitchen veggie scraps every second day and they reward me with lovely liquid compost for our garden. I have a wonderful book about earthworms, called, ‘The Earth Moved’ by Amy Stewart and this is a fantastic read, very informative 🙂
That worm compost seems to be doing a great job. Those roses are beautiful!
Thank you for the helpful info, Linda! We slacked on the garden this year so we’re trying to get it prepped properly for next year. I think we are going to focus on compost and trees this winter then move on to ornamentals and edibles full-force in the spring.
I’ll have to see if I can find that book.
I would love to spend a day in your gardens!
🙂
Linda!!!
Your roses are incredible!
I am certainly impressed not only are you a fiber expert, you have a very green thumb too : )
I am intrigued by your wormery as well!
Many warm wishes xo
I had been using just plain old compost Tea. But I am hooked on your worm compost Tea. Lovely Roses.
Linda, those roses are beautiful!…I will try my hand once again at gardening when our spring arrives over here 🙂
Your roses are beautiful, Linda! Wow. They smell good, too. :o)
Hi Linds
Wow, they really are beautiful. Horaay for worm poop! I love a rose garden. There is something very English about them. I can see some really nice PotPourri happening there too.
